THE TROUBLED PAST OF UTHANA
Our history
The founders of Uthana were born in Vindicta, under the leadership of the Grand Duke. This Duke was a dictator; he used violence to control the population and enslaved everyone who had ideas that differed from his plans.
Among this slaves, there was a courageous Uthanian named Fidel, he was tired of living this way. Together with a lot of the enslaved men and a part of the army (they also weren’t happy about the way things were going) he started a revolution against the Grand Duke, the Uthanian revolution.
Their main goal was to kill the duke and usurp his throne to make Vindicta a free country for all people but sadly enough, the revolution failed. Because of that they fled the country and escaped over the big mountain ridge. The getaway was no joke. It was a long and heavy way, with a lot of cruelty. Many people died and women were left behind in Vindicta because they were captured by the state and the Grand Duke. That’s why the escapees were mainly men and Uthana’s population is 80% male.
Everyone was scared about their future, since the lands on the other side of the mountains had never been explored before by humankind and since they were kids, Uthanians had heard a lot of legends and stories about the monsters and magic that ruled on the other side. But when they finally crossed the mountains they found a beautiful piece of land, no human or monster could be seen and everything seemed so peaceful, especially the colorful and mysterious flowers that bloomed everywhere. They decided that this was a perfect place to start a whole new way of living, a better way of living and they started to build their country without an inhuman Duke. At least, that’s what they thought…
A man named Varuna, led the creation of the new country, he was in charge and made a lot of decisions on his own. At first he was a very good leader. He organized expeditions to get to know the land and its resources, he led the constructions of the first cities, he created the currency,.. But after some time he started behaving like the Grand Duke and that’s how he became sort of a dictator. Because he was acting like this, the inhabitants decided he needed to leave and they carried out a plot against him, assassinating him with poison while he was sleeping. After his death there was a lot of confusion and chaos between the inhabitants, no one wanted to take the lead anymore and they started having problems with the supply of sources. They also started missing their home country and all the things they had there. That’s when they started to realize how big of a problem the lack of women was.
For some years everything seemed doomed, but luckily one day they found a new flower. This flower was magical and it gave the power to those that ate it to feel constantly happy. It helped them to order their minds and to make them more understandable, accepting, caring and lucky. They didn’t realize the effects of this flower immediately but when they did they started to harvest it and provide it to all the sad people. The flower was great since they made them work well together and because of that they made better decisions. In this way they were able to create a free state, like they all wanted from the start.
