Another year saying goodbye to summer with the Festival of Candles

Another long summer came to an end this past 27th of november in Uthana and to start the winter with good spirit the traditional celebration of the Festival of Candles took place in the sacred caves.

This year the celebration was bigger than ever and it was a huge success among Uthanians and people that came to visit us from different nations. The F

estival started on the 26th with the traditional lighting of the candles, each Uthanian citizen that participated placed a handmade candle from their town inside the cave and painted their hands on the walls in the same way Varuna did in the past to indicate the path they were taking to escape Vindicta.

After the ritual, parties and dancing followed which lasted until morning. Naturally Uthanians went to bed after the partying and they woke up just for the collective meal which consisted in Uthana’s traditional fruit bowls and salads and when the dinner ended the party continued, this time with special performances and fireworks.The festivity ended at midnight with the blowing of the candles.

According to Alisa, one of the Uthanian citizens that was taking care of the event, 60% of Uthanians attended the event and having the highest percentage ever of tourists took part in it so we can say that this year’s festival of candles has been the most successful ever.
